🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1958, in Alaska, a UFO sighting was recorded and later classified as a meteor. A luminous object with a long tail was observed both from the ground and the air, sparking multiple reports and curiosity. Witnesses described colors ranging from white to green, and several mentioned the object disintegrating, producing sparks like a rocket or a large firecracker. Although initially raising doubts, the official conclusion pointed to an astronomical phenomenon.
The investigation included testimonies from civilians and military personnel, with varied descriptions of the object's size, direction, and duration. Some compared it to the moon, others to an aircraft on fire. Despite the lack of photographs, the analysis concluded it was a meteor. The University of Alaska did not record any natural phenomena on that date, supporting the theory of an astronomical event. This case illustrates how natural phenomena can be mistaken for unidentified objects, especially under low visibility conditions.
