🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1958, a doctor from Houston, Texas, observed a bright airborne object with a fan-shaped tail. The object, bright orange in color, moved in a straight path from northeast to southwest without emitting sound. It remained visible for 15 minutes, prompting the observer to use binoculars and a compass to track its trajectory. Although the witness could not identify the object, investigators concluded it was likely a light on the underside of a conventional aircraft.
The official Air Force report considered it "probably" a civilian aircraft, despite its unconventional lighting. There was no photographic or radar evidence, and no other sightings were reported by local authorities. Despite the cloudy conditions, the observer accurately tracked the object. The official conclusion did not rule out a balloon or astronomical phenomenon but pointed toward a conventional explanation.
