🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1958, three observers in Danby, California, spotted a bright glow toward the Clipper Mountains. They described two cylindrical objects, about 15 feet long and 5 feet high, with a metallic sheen that vanished as the sun set. Initially, they thought it could be an aircraft or a crashed object. After investigating with telescopes and binoculars, they noticed guy wires and antennas, leading to the conclusion that the phenomenon was a solar reflection on radio structures. The Air Force confirmed that two state patrol antennas reflected sunlight under specific conditions, explaining the sighting. Although witnesses insisted the objects were there for weeks, the physical explanation matched the data.
