🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1958, a witness in Dallas, Texas, observed two round, grey objects flying one after the other towards the southeast. The sighting lasted between 45 and 60 seconds and the objects disappeared behind clouds. Although no photos were taken, the witness, who was interested in astronomy and the space race, described the event in detail. The report suggests the objects might have been Navy jet fighters, specifically FSU-1 Crusaders, operating in the area. These aircraft, painted black, could have stood out in the clear sky. The coincidence with the nearby Chance-Vought aircraft plant adds intrigue to the case.
The report classifies the incident as probably an aircraft, though other explanations are not ruled out. The witness was considered reliable and cooperative, which strengthens the credibility of the account. The absence of images and the brief nature of the sighting, however, leave open the possibility that the phenomenon was not fully identified.
