🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian in Lakewood, Ohio, reported in 1958 observing an object resembling a star, the size of a golf ball, with a yellowish glow. The object was seen for 85 minutes, hovering and slowly rising toward the east and northeast. Despite the long observation time, there were no photos or radar data involved. Investigators concluded it was likely the star Capella, which at that time was in a position matching the observer's description.
The report, classified under Project 10073, was analyzed by intelligence officers and transmitted to several air units. Although the observer was certain about the object's nature, experts suggested an astronomical explanation. Cases like this were common in the 1950s, when many sightings were attributed to stars, planets, or other celestial phenomena.
