🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1958, a witness in San Diego observed two shiny, disc-shaped objects moving side by side. The report details that the observer, experienced in aircraft recognition, saw two discs the size of a basketball, silvery and metallic, for about 15 to 20 seconds. Although initially considered as balloons or astronomical phenomena, investigators concluded it was likely aircraft. The report includes weather data and wind directions, helping to rule out other explanations.
The exact location of the sighting was near Montgomery Field, close to Convair, an aerospace company. Despite no photographs or radar involvement, the witness clearly described the movement and appearance of the objects. The report also mentions no other visible objects in the sky, reinforcing the idea of conventional aircraft. Finally, it was confirmed that balloons had been launched in the area, but not at the time of the sighting.
