🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1958, a witness in the Green River Lakes area of Wyoming observed a bright bluish-green object. The object remained in the same part of the sky but moved erratically and changed its brightness frequently. The observer watched it for about 17 minutes, first with the naked eye and then with binoculars. Initially thought to be a satellite or balloon, these possibilities were later dismissed. It was suggested the object might have been a refracted star due to the local topography, as nearby mountains altered the horizon. The object's unpredictable motion and intense light generated interest and was documented by air authorities at the time.
