Summary

In October 1952, a civilian from Midland Park, New Jersey, reported a bright orange object moving from south to north over Greenwood Lake. The witness, an engineer, described the object as a small, pinpoint-like star, moving in a wavy pattern. He observed it for about 50 seconds, enough time to note that it had no tail or noise, which caused some confusion about its nature.

The U.S. Air Force recorded the sighting in an official report, but concluded there was not enough information to determine whether it was a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical phenomenon. Despite the lack of images or additional data, the case remains a mystery for researchers of unexplained phenomena. The original report, dated 1952, is preserved as part of the records of Project 10073.
