🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1958, a civilian in Bremerton, Washington, reported a luminous object in the sky over Olympic National Park. The object appeared round, orange-red in color, and would brighten and dim, being twice the size of neighboring stars. It remained stationary for three minutes, which was unusual given its apparent size and brightness. Initially considered a balloon, the investigation suggested an astronomical explanation, possibly the star Capella. However, the official report concluded it was likely an astronomical phenomenon, though not definitively.
The lack of photographs and precise data limited the evaluation of the case, prompting a request for further investigation. The report includes meteorological data and wind observations but does not resolve the mystery of the object. Despite investigations, the case remains without a definitive explanation, leaving room for speculation about its nature.
