🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A report from Project 10073 describes a square object with a yellowish-green tint observed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, on October 19, 1958. The witness saw it at night, at 21:05, and described it as a solid object that exploded into pieces. Although it was a ground visual observation, no photographs or radar were involved. The report concludes it could be a meteor, given the description of the explosion and color.
The object remained stationary before disappearing, and the witness estimated it was about 25-30 miles away. Although no sound was recorded, the object was brighter than the sky background. The witness, a 32-year-old aircraft mechanic, had no prior experience with similar objects. The report suggests it could have been an astronomical phenomenon, though other possibilities are not ruled out.
