🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1952, an American pilot at Hahn Air Base in Germany observed a luminous object resembling a ball of fire with a fire tail. The object, yellowish-green in color, appeared suddenly and fell straight down for one to two seconds. Although initially considered a possible meteor, the detailed description and observation by another pilot, Captain Glenn Johnson, added credibility to the report. The object was seen in a twilight area, making definitive identification difficult.
The atmosphere of the Cold War era led to UFO reports being taken seriously. Although other explanations like balloons or aircraft were ruled out, the report concluded the phenomenon was likely astronomical. However, the coincidence of observations and the detailed description of the object keep some mystery around this case, which is part of many declassified UFO files.
