🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1958, a civilian observer in Long Beach, New York, reported seeing two unusual aerial objects. The first was round, yellow, and almost directly overhead, while the second was triangular and red. Both objects, the size of a pea, moved in opposite directions for a few seconds. The official report classified the event as astronomical meteors, though other possibilities were not ruled out. The sighting was provided by a civilian and no photographs were taken. The night was clear, aiding the observation, and the objects disappeared quickly without a trace.
Although the official report pointed to a natural explanation, the detailed description of the objects and their unusual behavior generated some curiosity. The case was filed without further investigation, but it remains an example of how UFO sightings were recorded and analyzed during the Cold War, when aerial surveillance was a strategic priority.
