Summary

In November 1958, an observer in Poteau, Oklahoma, reported a round object with distinct colors: red on top, green on the bottom, and white or purple in the center. The object was moving south in an erratic manner and remained visible for 10 to 15 minutes. The witness used a 65-power telescope and observed it between 20 and 50 degrees of elevation. Despite the detailed description, the object's nature could not be determined with certainty, as no azimuth data was provided and no sounds were heard.

The report indicates that the observer, who worked in aircraft lighting, contacted the CAA (Civil Aeronautics Authority) in Fort Smith. Several other observers in the same area also saw the object and considered it to be a planet or part of one. However, weather data and wind patterns at different altitudes did not help in identifying the object with precision. Ultimately, the case was classified as "insufficient for a definitive evaluation," reflecting the ambiguity surrounding many UFO reports at that time.
