🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1958 report describes a bright flash of light seen for three seconds over Baffin Island, Canada. The sighting was recorded as a blinding phenomenon without a clear trajectory or defined shape. Initially considered a possible meteor, the lack of detailed information from the civilian witness made it hard to determine the nature of the event. Later analyses suggested it could have been a meteor or flare, but the absence of precise data left the case inconclusive.
The atmospheric conditions at the time—scattered clouds and stable air—did not favor clear visibility. However, the fact that the sighting was reported by an aircraft in flight added credibility to the account. Despite investigations, the case remains unresolved, like many others from that era, where limited data and lack of advanced technology made it difficult to distinguish between natural phenomena and unidentified objects.
