In November 1962, a cylindrical object was sighted over Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. A civilian observer, from a DC-3 aircraft, described a cigar-shaped object that changed color from reddish-orange to white, with smoke appearing to come from the top. The object remained stationary for 5 to 10 minutes at an elevation of 25 to 30 degrees above the horizon.
