🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1958, three engineers in Matawan, New Jersey, reported an object resembling a jet trail. They observed it at a 60-degree angle to the horizon, which then leveled off and spun before vanishing. The sighting lasted two minutes and no photos were taken. The air force classified it as a contrail, but no further information was obtained from the witnesses.
The object was described in detail, with precise coordinates and bearings, but investigators could not confirm its nature. Although considered a contrail, the lack of concrete evidence left the case unresolved. The engineers requested confidentiality and were not contacted again for more details.
