🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1958, a 16-year-old student in Cleveland, Ohio, observed a silvery, oval-shaped object moving rapidly across the sky. The teenager saw it from a classroom window while looking northeast. The object, estimated to be 50 feet long and 20 feet high, covered a 60-degree arc in just 3.5 seconds. Although no photos were taken, the witness provided detailed descriptions of its appearance and movement. The official report labeled the case as "insufficient for evaluation," but the observer insisted it was not a balloon or aircraft.
The testimony includes sketches of the object and estimates of its size and direction. The student, self-proclaimed "saucer fan," claimed the object had no wings or fins and reflected sunlight. Despite inconsistencies in his initial statements, his detailed description and the context of the sighting generated interest among air force officials. The case remains unresolved, but his account is a classic example of a UFO sighting with unexplained characteristics.
