In February 1967, the CIA conducted a photographic analysis of images of an alleged UFO, provided by the Air Force's Aerial Phenomena Office. The photos, taken with a Polaroid camera, had poor quality, complicating the study. Images of a helicopter taken under the same conditions were included but could not be used due to low resolution. The analysis relied on assumptions, such as the object's distance from the camera, leading to approximate and inconclusive results.
The report noted that while there was no evidence the images were a hoax, confirming the object as a UFO was equally uncertain. The image quality, lack of precise data, and necessary assumptions led to ambiguous conclusions. For example, the sharpness of the UFO's edge, despite its distance, raised suspicions, but could also be explained otherwise. Ultimately, the analysis concluded that the object's nature could not be determined with certainty.
