🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1958, a civilian in Redlands, California, captured an object resembling a jet aircraft on film. The object was described as dime-sized at arm’s length, with three dark points aligned vertically and a trail about half its size. The observer didn’t notice the object until after developing the film. Although it was concluded to be a lenticular cloud, analysts noted contradictions in the report. The exposure time was just 1/50 of a second, yet the observer claimed the object was visible for about 20 seconds, casting doubt on the sighting’s reliability.
The photo was sent to the Air Technical Intelligence Center for evaluation, but experts determined there was insufficient data to confirm the object’s nature. Despite returning the film to the owner, the official report highlighted the time discrepancy as invalidating the sighting. The case ends with a note that, without physical evidence or additional testimony, the object remains unidentified.
