🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1958, a 12-year-old boy in Collinsville, Illinois, claimed to have seen a UFO. According to the report, the object appeared suddenly from a great height, was moving very fast, and displayed purple lights. The boy described the object making a 90-degree turn and heading north. Although the testimony was considered intriguing, authorities concluded that the data was insufficient for a clear evaluation. The report notes that the boy, looking through a possibly dusty window, might have been easily impressed by his active imagination.
The official Air Force report acknowledged that there was not enough information to determine if the object was a balloon, an aircraft, or something unknown. It was highlighted that although the boy was honest, his age and limited perspective made it difficult to confirm the object's description. In the end, the case was filed as insufficient for further investigation, but it remains a curious example of a UFO sighting reported by a child over half a century ago.
