In January 1959, a witness in Kilburn, Australia, observed two white, misty-looking objects traveling in a straight line. The report details that the objects were oval-shaped, about two-thirds the size of a full moon, and made no sound. The witness, a member of an astronomical society, saw the objects through his telescope and noted they were not self-illuminated. Although initially considered a bolide meteor that had split, the report did not rule out other possibilities.
The observation lasted between 3 and 5 seconds, and the witness could not determine the exact height or distance of the objects. The report concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the nature of the objects definitively, though a bolide meteor was considered. The detailed description and the credibility of the witness add intrigue to this case, which remains unexplained.
