🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1959, a witness in Norristown, Pennsylvania observed a cigar-shaped object glowing with the color of golden sunlight. The object was slowly descending toward the horizon and was seen for 50 minutes. Although the report suggests it might have been a parhelia, the witness—a priest with technical training—described precise details that didn't fit conventional explanations. His testimony includes careful observations from his car and later from a fixed location, where the object disappeared behind a cloud band and reappeared lower.
The testimony was sent to the military at the recommendation of a colonel, and the official report classifies it as a meteorological phenomenon. However, the detailed description of the object, its movement, and its behavior suggest it could have been something else. The witness, not an UFO enthusiast, insisted what he saw was real and recorded it immediately after the sighting. His letter reflects a mix of doubt and conviction, and he requested a professional evaluation of the event.
