🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1959, a woman in Dinwiddie, Virginia, reported seeing two bright objects that looked like silver mirrors. While driving, she noticed the objects hovering in the air at a distance she judged to be closer than jet contrails. The sighting was documented by the Washington Air Defense Section, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The observer described the objects as very bright and elliptical in shape, though she could not accurately estimate their size or distance.
The official investigation concluded that there was insufficient information to determine the nature of the objects. Possibilities such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena were considered, but none fully matched the account. The lack of photographic evidence and imprecise descriptions complicated the analysis. Despite efforts to gather more data, such as checking weather conditions and the exact location of the event, the case remains unresolved.
