🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1959, a civilian in Hicksville, New York, reported a star-shaped object that was very bright. The observer described it as lemon-sized, initially white, then turning reddish as it faded. The report concluded the object was astronomical, identified as the planet Mars. The sighting lasted one hour and was recorded as a ground visual observation. Although there were no photos or radar data, the information matched Mars's position at that time. The official report classified it as a normal celestial phenomenon, ruling out any unconventional explanation.
