🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
Between March 10 and 16, 1959, witnesses in the Baltic Sea reported mysterious fireballs appearing each night. Each night, a single fireball was observed, with no known origin or direction. These red glows appeared about 70 degrees above the horizon, stationary, before exploding into a bright yellow-red light. Despite repeated sightings, the information was too limited for analysts to determine their nature.
Authorities ruled out natural phenomena, satellites, or known aircraft. However, no images or radar data were recorded to help confirm an explanation. The location, 60 miles west of Klaipeda, Lithuania, pointed toward the direction of Cranz, north of Kaliningrad. Although balloon or astronomical explanations were considered, no definitive conclusion was reached. The case remains unresolved, added to the file of unclassified UFO reports.
