In May 1959, a U.S. Air Force officer reported an unusual aerial phenomenon while flying near Oceanside, California. The object, described as round, blue-green in color, and the size of a half-dollar, was moving at a speed significantly faster than typical aircraft. The witness compared it to the exhaust of an F4D but noted it was clearly faster. Despite the direct observation, no photos or additional data were taken.

The official conclusion suggested the object might have been a meteor, as its characteristics matched those of a celestial body entering the atmosphere.
