In January 1985, a Soviet civil aviation flight encountered an unidentified aerial phenomenon. The incident occurred when a Tu-134A en route to Tallin, crewed by an experienced team, observed a series of unexplained events. While flying near Minsk, the pilots and flight engineer noticed a luminous object emitting beams of light toward the ground. The object changed shape, mimicked the aircraft's flight, and behaved unpredictably, even appearing on radar without any other aircraft in the area.
The report was reviewed by Soviet experts, who highlighted the consistency of the testimonies and the copilot's detailed sketches. Although natural explanations like atmospheric refractions were initially considered, the precision of the description and the object's ability to adjust its distance and direction led to the conclusion that it was an unconventional phenomenon. The case was classified as a "UFO" and noted as one of the most detailed and well-documented of the era.
