🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1959, a witness in Elsinore, California reported hearing regular sounds in the air, similar to a camera shutter clicking, at intervals of about three seconds. Curious, he looked up and saw an unidentified object hovering on a nearby hill. The object remained there for about two minutes before moving away at an astonishing speed and smooth trajectory, with no noise except the clicking that stopped as it receded. The witness, a former Navy member trained in aircraft observation, stated the object did not resemble any known aircraft.
The report included film the witness had taken immediately after the sighting, but subsequent analysis found no images of the object. Despite the detailed description from the witness, including his physical and mental condition and prior experience, investigators concluded there was not enough information to identify the object. The case was closed without a clear explanation, leaving open the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon or a misunderstanding.
