🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
Two very bright white lights, the size of a nickel, were observed in trail formation over Chesterland, Ohio, on June 21, 1959. Captain Robert H. Davis, a B-47 aircraft commander, saw them during morning twilight. The lights were moving from east to west, descending slightly, and made no sound. The aircraft was flying through heavy fog with practically no wind, making identification difficult. The sighting lasted about five seconds, and although the witness rated his confidence as maximum (5/5), the data was insufficient for analysis. The case was closed as inconclusive.
The lack of noise and speed, faster than a DC-6, added mystery to the event. Although several explanations were considered, such as balloons or astronomical phenomena, none were confirmed. The official report did not reach a definitive conclusion, leaving open the possibility that it was an unidentified phenomenon.
