🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A golden and brilliant object was observed over the Patuxent River in Maryland in 1959. It had an oblong shape, sharp edges, and a uniform color. It flew straight and level at around 4000 feet, seen for 20-30 seconds. Observers, including a 17-year-old and a 9-year-old girl, described it as clearly different from stars, aircraft, or balloons. The sudden disappearance suggested a mirage or reflection, but the detailed description classified it as unidentified. There was insufficient data to conclude whether it was a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical phenomenon.
