🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1959, a witness in Madera, California, reported an unidentified flying object that appeared as a small yellow dot. The sighting occurred at night, under a full moon, and the object maintained a straight and level course for three minutes. It moved from an elevation angle of 20° to 30°, finally disappearing from view without showing signs of acceleration or unusual maneuvers. Despite the brief nature of the sighting, the report concluded it was an aircraft, though no conflicting data was presented to support this interpretation.
The case was documented in an official format of the time, including details such as size, color, and trajectory of the object. Although there were no photographs or radar data, the witness, a civilian, accurately described the object's movement. The report also includes an evaluation of weather conditions and classifies the event as "insufficient for evaluation" due to the lack of additional information. This case reflects how sightings in the 1950s were treated with rigor, even when they lacked a clear explanation.
