Summary

In July 1959, a witness in Irondequoit, New York, observed a mysterious object with a crescent shape and a "white bubble" in the center. The object, brownish-black in color, was moving at an astonishing speed, silently, and disappeared behind some trees. The witness, a technical illustrator with technical training, described in detail the appearance and movement of the object, suggesting it was neither an aircraft nor a meteor. The official report classified it as unidentified, without reaching firm conclusions.

The witness, using binoculars, estimated the object to be between 50 and 60 feet long and behaving in an unusual manner. Although he suggested the possibility of a new type of silent aircraft, no evidence supported this idea. The case remained unsolved, adding a touch of mystery to this nighttime sighting.
