Summary

In August 1959, an observer in Washington, D.C., reported a luminous object moving rapidly from northeast to southwest. The object, described as a white light, traveled in a straight line, blinking irregularly, until it suddenly stopped. It then began moving erratically, tracing circles and darting motions, before gradually fading toward the southwest. The observer, along with five others, stated it was not a conventional aircraft or helicopter, as there was no engine noise. The weather was clear with excellent visibility, increasing the mystery around the phenomenon.

The official investigation concluded there was insufficient information to determine the object's origin. Although possibilities such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical events were considered, none fully explained the sighting. The report was distributed to several military units for further analysis, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The case remains one of the many unresolved UFO reports from that era, where the lack of concrete data prevents a more precise evaluation.
