🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1959, several witnesses in Denver, Colorado, reported sightings of unidentified flying objects that were later classified as meteors. The records from Project 10073 indicate that observers described objects ranging in color from blue to white, with visible trails or exhaust. One account mentioned a tear-drop shaped object that disappeared after 15 seconds of observation. Another report, from a civilian, described an object the size of a silver dollar with a faint orange glow. Despite the intriguing nature of the sightings, investigators concluded that these were common astronomical phenomena, such as meteors entering Earth's atmosphere. The lack of photographs and the brief duration of the sightings made a more precise evaluation difficult, but weather data and descriptions aligned with what is typical of a meteor.
