🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1959, an Air Force officer in Burlington, Vermont, reported an object emitting blinking white light. The object moved erratically, going up, down, and heading southeast. Despite its unusual behavior, investigators concluded it was likely a weather balloon. These balloons are often released at specific times and can carry lights for identification, matching the sighting description.
The observation lasted about four minutes and was recorded from the local airport. Although the object gradually disappeared, its movement and characteristics aligned with what is expected from a balloon. Similar sightings in the area were also attributed to the same phenomenon. Although no photos were taken, the detailed report and the witness's reliability provided enough information to rule out more exotic explanations.
