🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1959, a 15-year-old student in Trotwood, Ohio, observed a bright orange object that looked like a ball of fire. The teenager saw it for one and a half minutes, with no sound and slightly blurred edges. The object appeared from the northeast, made a circle, and gradually faded to the east. Although the observer thought it might be an aircraft, the data did not allow for a clear conclusion.
The U.S. Air Force recorded the sighting as part of Project 10073. The student estimated the object was traveling at 3000 mph and was about 100 miles away. Although no photos were taken, sketches showed the object's path. The report concluded there was insufficient data to determine the nature of the phenomenon, leaving open the possibility that it was a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical event.
