🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1952, a witness in Jamaica, Long Island, observed a grayish-white sphere moving east at low altitude. The object, described as "a block long," traveled about a mile before sunrise in a clear sky. The sighting lasted one to three minutes, and the witness saw it from a moving car. Although the officer in charge, Captain Thompson, confirmed there were no weather conditions affecting visibility, the object could not be identified. The lack of precise details on size, speed, and exact location led to the case being labeled as "insufficient for evaluation."
The official report included no photos or radar data, and the witness did not respond to follow-up questions. The conclusion was that there was not enough evidence to determine if it was a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical event. Although the officer considered it could be a cloud, the clear description and trajectory generated some curiosity. The case remains unresolved, like many from that era.
