Summary

In October and November 1959, a civilian in Mobile, Alabama observed an object orbiting the moon every 6 minutes. This report was submitted in 1965, but astronomers could not confirm the object's existence. It was believed that the sightings might have been caused by natural phenomena such as debris, aircraft, birds, or leaves passing through the telescope's field of view. The report concluded that there was no evidence of an artificial or supernatural object.

The observer, along with a friend, recorded these appearances over 33 days and sent inquiries to institutions like the Smithsonian Institute. However, experts calculated that an object with a 6-minute orbital period would need to travel at extremely high speeds, which seemed impossible. Despite this, the observer insisted on the accuracy of his records, based on mathematical calculations and repeated observations.
