🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1959, multiple witnesses in Maine reported sightings of unidentified flying objects. A civilian in Fort Fairfield described a silent flying object with bright lights on the bottom. Meanwhile, a woman and a crew member in Presque Isle observed two round objects with blue rings emitting red rays toward the ground. These objects remained visible for several hours. At Loring AFB, observers noted a white light that appeared stationary, confirmed by radar. Aircraft were deployed, but the object could not be visually identified. Winds were coming from the west and southwest, complicating precise identification. Although a balloon was considered, the data was insufficient for a definitive conclusion.
