🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1959, a civilian in Dayton, Ohio, reported a luminous object appearing behind clouds. The witness described a bright, bluish-white point that grew in size and brightness until it disappeared. Although unable to determine its shape due to the intensity of the light, he noted it left a tail similar to a comet. The report included calls to military bases and control towers, all negative. Investigators concluded it was likely a meteor, though the observation duration was considered unusual. The witness, a technically trained worker, initially thought it might be a burning aircraft.
