🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in the Atlantic reported a bright, fiery object moving east at a 45-degree altitude. The event lasted only 4 seconds and was described as an explosion similar to a Roman candle. Although initially it might seem like an unidentified flying object, experts concluded it was a meteorite, commonly known as a bolide. These events, while striking, are common and often mistaken for UFO sightings due to their brightness and speed.
The report, classified under Project 10073, was processed by the Department of the Air Force and marked as an astronomical meteor case. There were no photographs or radar involved, and the testimony was provided by a civilian. The description of the event matches the typical characteristics of a meteorite disintegrating as it enters Earth's atmosphere.
