🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1959 report describes the observation of a white, round object the size of a golf ball near Greenville Air Force Base in Mississippi. The witness, a flight instructor, claimed the object was moving faster than an F-100 jet. The sighting occurred during the day and the observer was deemed reliable. Although a daylight meteor was considered, the duration of the sighting made this unlikely. The object was seen for five to six seconds, moving in a straight line from east to west at high altitude.
The air base investigated and confirmed no other witnesses or aircraft activity in the area. However, no photographs or additional data were obtained to identify the object. The report was classified as "insufficient for evaluation," reflecting the lack of conclusive evidence. Despite the observer's reliability, the object's nature remained undetermined, leaving open the possibility of an unknown phenomenon or a natural event not yet identified.
