🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1960, a woman in Winter Haven, Florida, observed a reddish, circular object the size of a grapefruit. The object appeared in the sky, circled slowly for two minutes, and then headed south while gaining altitude. Despite the detailed description, the report suggests it might have been an Atlas missile launched from Cape Canaveral. The observer, a housewife with normal reliability, saw the phenomenon at night under clear weather conditions with strong winds at high altitudes. The official report concludes the object could have been an atmospheric illusion caused by the missile's trail.
