🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 39-year-old man driving an oil truck in Minnesota saw a bright white, basketball-sized object with a slight tail. The object appeared silently and vanished instantly as it fell straight down. The sighting lasted just one second, but investigators concluded it was likely a fireball meteor. Weather conditions were clear with good visibility, supporting the credibility of the witness.
Although other explanations like balloons or aircraft were initially considered, the object's speed and vertical trajectory ruled them out. Meteorological data from Duluth Air Base confirmed no conditions supporting natural phenomena like ball lightning. Experts finally concluded the object was a meteor, matching the described characteristics of a fireball.
