🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1960, two witnesses in Lakota, North Dakota, observed a crescent-shaped object emitting bright light. The object had horns pointing upward and a color described as yellowish-green or aqua. One witness noted a tail on the left horn with a pear-shaped light, while the other described a large cone on a shaft between the horns. The sighting lasted 5 to 10 seconds, and the object faded into ground fog.
Although the report suggested it could be a meteor from the Lyrids meteor shower, which occurs in January, there was no definitive confirmation. Investigators reviewed weather conditions and radar data but found no conventional explanations. The witnesses were respected professionals, adding credibility to the observation. Ultimately, the report concluded there was no positive explanation for the phenomenon.
