🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1960, a witness in Munich, Germany, observed an object the size of a jet wing tank emitting a yellow flame followed by a blue flame. The object was at about 700 feet altitude, moving at high speed before falling into a clump of trees two miles away. The sighting lasted between 3 and 5 seconds. Although several explanations such as satellites, astronomical phenomena, or aircraft were considered, no definitive conclusion was reached. The source was deemed possibly reliable, but the data was insufficient for a clear evaluation.
The official investigation did not prioritize the case, concluding there was no relevant information for further investigation. The report was returned without additional action, and it was stated that any available material would have already been analyzed if it had been significant. This document reflects the typical approach of the time, where many sightings were dismissed due to lack of conclusive evidence, despite detailed descriptions from witnesses.
