🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An Air Force intelligence officer observed a luminous object in February 1960 near Alexandria, Louisiana. The report describes a pinpoint of light with a tail moving from south to north. Initially considered a possible weather balloon, the investigation concluded it was an astronomical phenomenon. The star Spica, located almost due east of the observer, matched the description and position of the object. The film footage revealed nothing unusual, and other explanations like aircraft or balloons were ruled out. The case was closed after confirming it was a natural event.
