🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1960, two observers on a refueling mission described an object resembling a green flare that descended and split into two parts. The object was seen for only a few seconds, and although it was initially thought to be a flare, no launches were recorded in the area. The pilots had no experience with such phenomena, adding mystery to the event.
The observers' base and clear weather supported the idea that it wasn't a common atmospheric event. Despite considering the possibility of a bright meteor, the object's description and behavior remained unusual. The official report classified it as a possible meteor, but the possibility of an unknown object wasn't ruled out.
