🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1960, a large orange object was observed falling in the southern sky in Argentina. The witness, the president of the Bahía Blanca Astronomical Center, noted that the object moved slower than a meteor and had a different color. Given the observer's credentials, a meteor sighting was ruled out. It was suggested that the object could be the decay of Sputnik III, though no other reports confirmed the sighting. The case was officially recorded with the suspicion that it involved a satellite breaking up.
