🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1957, a witness in Tennessee observed an unidentified flying object with a luminous trail. The object, described as round and the size of a basketball, emitted a whitish light that turned reddish as it passed behind a dark cloud. The sighting lasted about 15 minutes, during which the object moved in a southeast to northwest direction. Initially considered to possibly be a balloon or an astronomical phenomenon, later analyses suggested it was an aircraft approaching the solar horizon, causing the reddening of light due to atmospheric scattering. The description and behavior of the object generated curiosity, but no conclusive evidence of an extraterrestrial nature was found.
